The traditional Danish egg sandwich with mayonnaise, tomato and of course the green sprinkling of strong cress on top is a must for lunch. Cress can be sprinkled on almost all kinds of open sandwiches, egg cakes and much more and gives the food a fresh spice that gets the taste buds going.
We all know cress as seedlings on the windowsill and provides a healthy boost during the cold winter months, when we long for leafy greens. If cress is allowed to grow outside, it forms tall plants with small and delicate branched white flower clusters.
