The common snapdragon (In Danish "Lions mouth") is one of the most beautiful things in the garden with the finely shaped lion's heads that roar :) I have them in several colors and enjoy the sharp color contrasts they create in the perennial bed. This snapdragon is only about 30cm tall, but blooms as if it was a meter.
The common snapdragon is a perennial, but it is far from always surviving the frosts of the Danish winter, so you may only get to enjoy it for one season. If you have it in pots, these can advantageously be kept frost-free over the winter.
The plant requires very little soil and can therefore also be grown as a rock bed plant.
