Red clover is a very lovely Danish summer flower that can be found freely in the Danish countryside. Red clover thrives in flower beds, pots, lawns and many other places and is therefore a very frugal and beloved plant. If red clover is allowed to unfold, it grows significantly taller than the one we know from the lawn and sets many and rather large flower heads.
Red clover is good for bees and insects, is a favourite food for livestock (e.g. cows) and can actually also be eaten by humans as a delicacy with a slightly sweet honey taste.
All types of clover can be used in the vegetable garden for soil improvement and green manure - the long roots of clover loosen the soil and the plant collects nitrogen which is released later when you grow other crops there.
