Poppies should never be missing in Danish gardens. They attract bees, insects and birds and brighten up the garden with their varied and unique colors. Poppies fit into any garden because they don't require much space or attention from you. Poppies are known by their fluttering silky petals and they come in all variations and sizes. I have quite a few different ones here on the site.
This variety is called "Dannebrog" because it resembles our Danish flag with the four petals representing each corner of the flag and the center cross the white cross on our flag. It is a tall species, growing up to 110cm and each plant bears only 1 flower. In return, you can enjoy the vibrant red hue and the lobed delicate petals when it emerges. The large seed heads that appear after flowering are ideal for decorations and dry bouquets.
