Mountain cornflower is a beautiful and very dense perennial that can thrive almost anywhere in the garden. It has very low requirements for sun, water and nutrients, so it can also thrive under trees, in semi-shade, etc.
Mountain cornflower has large, deep blue flower heads that resemble a mixture of cornflowers and thistles, but with the mountain cornflower you avoid the thorns. Mountain cornflower is a very lush plant that can grow to a size of up to half a square metre in just a few years, so you should plant it somewhere in your garden where you can give it plenty of space.
I enjoy mountain cornflower very much because it blooms at a time when all the summer flowers haven't started yet, and for me it's a harbinger of summer.
