Lindelyst's new logo and slogan...
It was time for Lindelyst to get a real logo and after much thought, trial and error I chose this simple design.
The flower, reminiscent of the small fragrant linden flowers that bloom only 2 days a year, represents the growing, the expanding, the natural and the vital. It symbolises the power of nature and the beautiful "complex simplicity" of my work.
The slogan "Created by Nature" comes from my partly newfound humility about my work. When I proudly write that I have produced 2.5 tons of vegetables in 2022, it's not true at all - I have facilitated and supported and helped, but I can never make anything grow. With my will and skills I cannot grow a carrot - It is the carrot itself (nature itself) that does the work and I am just a spectator.
This thought has haunted me since the birth of my youngest daughter. My dear midwives Marta and Dorthe said some wise words then that have stuck with me ever since: "It is not you who conceives a child or gives birth to it with your will - No matter how much you study and no matter how much you want to, you can never learn how to create a child or teach your body how to give birth to it - The body (nature) does all the work and knows best - Let it work and support it". These words have led to many thoughts over the last few years about how we humans try to subdue nature and the natural and push our will down over what really should be allowed to regulate itself.
A carrot grows because a carrot's job in life is to grow, set seed and multiply. I help it along by providing good soil, clearing weeds around it and making sure it is watered, but I can't do or force the "growing" itself. Ergo, everything I do is created by nature with me helping.
